Akbay aimed more shots at the club’s executive over mismanagement and an uncaring attitude which he said was making his work difficult.

He is also not happy with the supporter apathy.

The coach made the remarks ahead of their penultimate match against Yadah at Rufaro Stadium tomorrow.

Akbay said his aim was for the team to finish the season strongly, but his efforts were frustrated since the team went through some of the worst preparations.

Akbay said the team travelled without water all the way to Harare to curtain-raise the FC Barcelona Legends-Warriors Legends match and on Wednesday before the How Mine match which they won controversially on Thursday, the players did not get their food on time in camp.

“We are trying to finish strongly, but from the executive committee side it is not working the way we want,” he said.

“Yesterday (Wednesday) the boys got their food late and last week we went to Harare and back with no water. These guys have to take this job very seriously. It is not acceptable anymore. And they want results with what you have to go through every week where you have to fight for a place where you stay and the food that you get; I have run out of words for this.”

The Dutchman, who has indicated that he would not be renewing his contract with Highlanders regardless of any offer, said all the while he thought Bosso were a community team, but he was surprised no one was coming to the club’s aid in times of need. “For me, this is not acceptable. In two weeks I am going home. They have to think before they make the next move. What I have seen in the two years and what I saw here is not acceptable. I cannot do anything about it. We lost to Hwange, but if you saw where we slept you would not be amused at all. But where are those people? I am not seeing it financially; I am not seeing it in the stadium. It is becoming worse and worse. I have no advice for Highlanders, I am just going home.”

In September, Akbay, who has failed on his mandate to win the championship, blamed his bosses for failing to replace key players – Prince Dube and Roderick Mutuma – with equally good players in mid-season
