Some of the confiscated goods include beverages, second-hand clothes and groceries, while most of the vendors paid admission of guilty fines at the Harare Central Police Station upon their arrest.

The vendors were charged with criminal nuisance for obstructing the free passage of people along the shop’s pavements.

The State also successfully sought to dispose goods confiscated from other vendors who were fined by the court over the same charge.

Allegations against them were that on October 20 this year, police officers received information that the vendors were selling various items which included beverages, clothes and groceries on pavements in the city, thereby obstructing the free movement of people and did not possess licences.

Isheunesu Mhiti appeared for the State.
