Indonesian Embassy minister counsellor Partogi Samosir said the expo, to run from October 11 to 15, would present productive industrial conferences, effective one-on-one business matching and investment opportunities for Zimbabwean and Indonesian entrepreneurs.

“It provides excellent networking experience as this expo gives Zimbabwe’s businesspersons opportunities to meet top government officials and CEOs of companies,” he said.

Samosir said last year’s expo closed with the clinching of transactions worth $975 million, a 7,2% rise from the previous year.

“Of the total number of transactions recorded, $826,52m involved the sale of goods and $48,23m for services. Indonesian investment abroad accounted for the remaining $100m worth of transactions,” he said.

Samosir said the six most traded commodities at the event were automotive components, with transactions valued at $250m, followed by aircraft components, electronics, oil and gas equipment, wood products and chemical products worth $156m, $140m, $70m, $52m and $38m respectively.

“Other goods which garnered international interest were agricultural products and machinery, fertilisers, furniture, leather products, paper, stationary, medical, textiles, spices, essential oil and speciality coffee,” the Indonesian diplomat said.
