Empress Massina yesterday said she was overwhelmed by her fans’ response to the track, which was done in a refreshing and classic word play.

She said some of the fans were surprised by Pambuka’s appearance, as they had associated him only with television news.

“They think that Pambuka is only for news anchoring and current affairs programmes. Little did they know that the man is multi-talented and he enjoys what he does,” she said.

Empress Massina hailed Pambuka for his passion for Zimdancehall, the result that saw him being appointed the patron of the Zimdancehall Annual Awards in 2013. His term is due to expire this year.

The latest collaboration came barely weeks after the broadcaster partnered with Kinnah and DJ Fantan and Levels in other singles whose videos are already on YouTube. He did two singles — Haindaigara Ndichishanda and Hukama — with Kinnah.

In another single, Hapana Anotimisa, he worked with D.J Fantan.

Empress Massina, whose music career blossomed in 2014 when she released Mandimba before collaborating with Killer T on Ndaiti Ndiwe, attributed her success in music to hard work and commitment.

The Nditori Nenharo hitmaker advised fellow female dancehall artistes to believe in themselves, and focus on achieving greater things in their careers despite the industry proving very tough to sail through.

“Yes, there are fruits at the end, but our music industry is very tough. You need not expect huge rewards when you are still starting. Work hard and keep focused for you to achieve big,” she said.
