The accused, Evermore Ncube, was not asked to plead when she appeared before magistrate Josephine Sande who granted her $50 bail and remanded the matter to September 4 this year.

It is the State’s case that on August 19 this year, the informant, Moreblessing Gwauya, received information from a passer-by that an infant had been dumped close to her residence.

Gwauya rushed to the scene and recovered the baby before filing a police report, leading to Ncube’s arrest.
