Several groups will tomorrow battle for honours at Gwaya Gwaya Beer Garden in Chinhoyi at the Chibuku Road to Fame Mashonaland West provincial finals to book the ticket to represent the province at this year’s national finals set for September 30 at Glamis Arena in Harare. Winners will clinch the main prize of $7 000 and a recording contract, with the first and third runners-up pocketing $5 000 and $3 000, respectively.

Several groups will tomorrow battle for honours at Gwaya Gwaya Beer Garden in Chinhoyi at the Chibuku Road to Fame Mashonaland West provincial finals to book the ticket to represent the province at this year’s national finals set for September 30 at Glamis Arena in Harare. Winners will clinch the main prize of $7 000 and a recording contract, with the first and third runners-up pocketing $5 000 and $3 000, respectively. Chibuku Road to Fame music talent showcase is one of the longest running grassroots talent identification initiatives in the country, sponsored by Delta Beverages, through their Chibuku brand, in partnership with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe.

Belgravia Sports Club will tomorrow vibrate with sounds of different music genres, as several artistes and wheel spinners take turns to entertain merrymakers at the inaugural Gango festival. Organised by Proma Events, revellers will be entertained by Takura, ExQ, Nutty O, Selmor Mtukudzi, Diamond Musica, Progress Chipfumo, Andy Muridzo and Mbeu.

South African house music producer and wheel spinner, Heavy K tonight will entertain patrons at the upmarket Pabloz’s Club and VIP located at Sam Levy’s Village in Borrowdale, Harare. The Mzansi spinner will share the decks with local DJs.

Meikles Hotel

Flamboyant rapper, Desmond “Stunner” Chideme and dancehall sensation Boom Berto will tomorrow shift from their usual audience to entertain a diverse gathering at this year’s edition of The Shift Zimbabwe at Meikles Hotel in Harare. Famed for their duet Munemari Here, Stunner and Boom Berto will share the stage with another talented musician and producer Adrian “Tate” Mathe at the event that is a gathering of entrepreneurs.

Extra Mile Leisure Spot

Tryson, Douglas and Allan Chimbetu will this weekend take their fans down memory lane, as they share the stage at the annual Simon “Chopper” Chimbetu commemorations. The commemoration gigs start tonight at La-Rouge Bar in Westgate, before moving to Chegutu Arms tomorrow and curtains will come down on Sunday at Extra Mile Leisure Spot in Harare, where the Chimbetu siblings will be supported by fellow musicians.

Musician Blessing “Bled” Chimanga will today and tomorrow stage his debut theatre performance titled Can You Hear Me at Harare International School. The play features seasoned jazz sensation Prudence Katomeni–Mbofana, poet, So Profound and choreographer, Blessing Fire.

Reggae outfit, The Transit Crew will tomorrow lead the pre-heroes party at Harare Truck Inn in Southerton, where Logan, Sister Flame, Ponkie Dat, Gallis Kush and Skillful Tongue will entertain guests.

King of Zora Music Leonard “Karikoga” Zhakata tonight entertains revellers at Club Las Vegas in Southerton in Harare. Tomorrow he takes his act to Bindura’s Club CD Chiwaridzo, where he will be supported by The Way Band.

Mbare Netball Complex

Dancehall sensation, Killer T tomorrow celebrates his fifth anniversary in the music industry at Mbare Netball Complex. The Bvunza Tinzwe hitmaker will be joined by Soul Jah Love, Silent Killer, Kinnah, Hwindi President, Seh Calaz, Freeman, Jah Signal, Blot and Shinsoman.

Eden Nightclub, Bulawayo

South African house music and producers Prince Kaybee of the Charlotte fame will be rocking it on the turntables tomorrow, as he continues to take his Better Days Tour outside Mzansi. He will be backed by resident DJs Kananjo, Keezy AM and CP.

Reps Theatre

Curtains will come down tomorrow at the Peterhouse Group of Schools’ Musical and Comedy show dubbed Sister Act at Reps Theatre in Harare. The show is part of the Peterhouse Girls High School’s 30th anniversary celebrations.

Pub Lagondola, Bulawayo

Several artistes will tonight converge at Pub Lagondola, as they join rapper Mawiza’s graduation celebrations at an event that doubles as the pre-party for Cal_Vin’s annual Made in Bulawayo hip-hop concert. Cal_Vin will then host the concert in the same city at Elite 400 tomorrow and will be joined by Floppy X, POY, Asaph, Mawizza, GTI, Psychotek, Barbs, Benny Jones, DJ Liz, DJ Reggie and T1nda.

Large City Hall Car Park, Bulawayo

Jeys Marabini, Clement Magwaza, Sandra Ndebele, Madlela Skhobokhobo, Cal_vin, Iyasa, Ramsy K, Sungura Masters, Kadder, Msiz Kay, Mzoe 7, Hwabaraty, Khaya Arts, Ezimnyama, Impumelelo Shining Stars, Khuliyo, Martin and the Ndolwane Super Sounds, will tomorrow square off at the Celebrating Local Talent concert set for Bulawayo.

Soul Jah Love will on Monday take his act to Bulawayo to stage his debut performance at Club Connect at a show dubbed Indiscipline. The Zvinhu hitmaker will be supported by resident wheel spinners DJs Kead Weaked, T Bass and Crazy Black.
