The two accused, Lazarus Muyambo (34) of Chenge Village and Christopher Zulu (27) of Lubweludile Village appeared before provincial magistrate, Sharon Rosemani charged with robbery.

The court heard that on July 22 at around 10pm, Linwell Mathe (23) was drinking beer at Lukosi business centre with his friends and the two accused.

One of his drinking mates, Assa Shoko exited the bar and Mathe followed him.

Zulu then followed Mathe and struck him twice on the right knee with a knobkerrie, while Muyambo immediately joined in and pummelled him with fists until he lost consciousness.

The two allegedly undressed Mathe and took off with his T-shirt, trousers and slippers.

They were arrested weeks later after being identified by local police officers.

The clothes were recovered.

The two, who are in custody, pleaded guilty to the offense and will be sentenced on Thursday.
