Through its lawyers, Croco Motors issued the summons on Thursday after efforts to recover the outstanding debt allegedly hit a snag.

In its declaration, Croco Motors said sometime between January and June this year, ZBC brought several vehicles that included 10 Ford Rangers and two Ford Escorts for mechanical service to the Croco Motors premises.

According to the court papers, Croco Motors serviced the vehicles and submitted invoices for payment, but the national broadcaster allegedly reneged on its contractual obligation.

“Despite the servicing of the above vehicles, the defendant (ZBC) has neglected to pay for the services rendered,” Croco Motors said.

“The total sum of $13 335 is still owing.

“Despite demand to make the payment, the defendant has neglected and/or failed to pay the said amount.

“A final letter of demand was written to the defendant on July 19, 2017 and served on July 21, 2017.

“No effort was made by the defendant to make the payment.

“The plaintiff had to approach this honourable court for recourse.”

ZBC is yet to respond to the summons.
