Vision: The power stroke to victory

This is further elaborated by one of the African proverbs which says: “If you think you are too small to make a difference, you haven’t spent a night with a mosquito.” As tiny as it may be, it has the capacity to keep a huge man awake. It has the inbuilt ability to become an agent of disturbance when the night approaches. Its size matters not, but its buzz is enough to draw attention from anyone trying to enjoy his night.

“Where there is no vision people perish,” Holy Scriptures stated.

Motivation: STEVE NYAMBE

That is how life is. No matter how small the ground you have covered so far is, you can still make a difference in the future. Your future can still become bigger, broader and brighter. Where you are standing has nothing to do with your final future position.

Your current status does not reflect your final destination. It is just your current, period. Many might not believe in your vision. Thus there is just one thing you must not do, that is to add another angle of disbelief together with your opposers through murmuring. When everyone complains, don’t complain with them.

When the sun is hot, unwise people always want to remind others it is hot. However, is it wise to emphasise to people what they are seeing already? I believe no. Not at all.

Why then do you assist the complainers and sluggards on their unwise perception? Ignore them and focus on your vision. It is important to hold firm to it. Do not be shaken.

The story of Mr Wier

So if it means you must change the strategy like Wier — change. Why not follow his footsteps as you march towards your vision? According to Napoleon Hill, the writer of the inspirational book, Think and Grow Rich, Wier was just an ordinary construction engineer. Nothing could have been written of him if he had not taken the route which others thought was the “navigation to the insanity end”.

Take inventory and change

“Wier had prepared himself as a construction engineer and followed this line of work until depression limited his market to where it did not give him the income he required. So he took inventory of himself, decided to change his profession to law. He went back to school and took special courses by which he prepared himself as a corporate lawyer. He completed his training, passed the bar examination, and quickly built his lucrative law practice.”

Nothing must stop you

Hill continues and say: “Just to keep the record straight, and help those who could say, ‘I couldn’t go to school because I had a family to support,’ or ‘l am too old’ l will add the information that Mr Wier was past 40 and married when he went back to school. Moreover, by carefully selecting highly-specialised courses the college prepared him to later teach the subjects chosen. Wier then completed in two years the work for which the majority of law students require four years.” It pays to know how to hold on to your vision.

Remember Jim Rohn who said: “If you are not willing to risk the usual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.” And the ordinary do not pay at all.

Vision and fear

How many of your friends were satisfied with mediocrity because of fear of taking their vision head on and take the risk. Do not be like them. Go for your vision. You can do more than you ever imagined.

“If you can imagine it, you can achieve it, if you can dream it then you can become it,” said William Ward.

You just do not need to see all the way to your destination. All you need for now is enough light to show you where you are standing, the rest will fall in place when you start moving. So move towards your vision.

The question to the blind man

One blind man was asked: “Can there be anything worse than losing your sight?”

What a question. A real probing one. Interestingly the answer he gave could have surprised any man.

To this question he replied: “Yes, losing your vision is worse off than losing your sight.”

You may lose your sight. You may lose all your material possessions, but never lose your vision. Vision is the start and end to everything. Hold it tightly one day it will speak. It will materialise, for vision is just the only required power stroke to victory. It is so powerful like a strong tower which no one can move.

It is always man of vision who will pursue, overcome and recover all most of the times. Just keep on track, do not sidetrack.

The wind and the storm which maybe a hindrance for now will soon varnish. Never shiver because of them.

Sometimes you need to stand bold like one man who saw his business about to crumble. He did not panic. He held his faith and queried: “Whose report am I going to believe, one from God or people? If God is on our side who can be against me?” It can be done. Be blessed.
