HOW MINE coach, Kelvin Kaindu was left seething with anger after his charges dropped points in a drab goalless draw against ZPC Kariba in a Castle Lager Premiership match at Luveve Stadium yesterday.

How Mine finished the match with 10 men after Stephen Nyambabvu was sent off for a second bookable offence two minutes before the final whistle.

The gold miners were without the pair of Praise Tonha and Milton Ncube, who were not considered for the match after failing to report for training after their return from national duty.

“They came from a (national) team that did not produce a good result and they skip training. I cannot field players that miss training,” Kaindu said.

The duo was part of the Warriors’ squad that lost to Namibia in a penalty shoot-out at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday to bow out of this year’s African Nations Championships (Chan) tournament.

How Mine dropped two rungs down the ladder to fifth and Kaindu lamented the lost points.

“It was a difficult game. The application and the attitude were not good,” he said.

“We did not come to the party. I think we put so much effort in the rescheduled game against Caps United during the break.

“But at least we got away with a point, which I think we did not deserve.

“We have dropped points at home to a side that beat us in the first game, which means we have actually lost four points to ZPC Kariba.”

His counterpart, Sunday Chidzambwa, conceded it was not an easy game, although his side had an upper hand, particularly in the dying minutes, when substitute, Daniel Chakupe missed a glorious chance from a Limited Chikafa cross in the 70th minute, while Never Tigere’s long-range effort was met with a brilliant save by goalkeeper, Munyardazi Diya six minutes later.

“It was a game of two halves, but a draw away from home is better and we will take it up from there,” Chidzambwa said.

“We got our chances, but we could not convert them and it’s not easy playing against a team that is a man down.”

ZPC Kariba remain eighth with 28 points after the draw.
