Several bands will tomorrow battle for honours to book a ticket to represent Masvingo province at this year’s edition of the Chibuku Road to Fame contest set for Huruyadzo Gardens in Chivi. The music extravaganza, sponsored by Delta Beverages through their Chibuku brand in conjunction with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe, helps to promote development of music groups through talent identification. This year’s national finals are set for September 30 at Glamis Arena in Harare.

Chevron Hotel, Masvingo

The annual DreamStar Zimbabwe Talent Show, organised by the Chinese Federation of Zimbabwe (CFZ), opens tomorrow with auditions set for Chevron Hotel in Masvingo. It will then proceed to Mutare (August 5), Bulawayo (August 12) and Gweru (August 13) before wrapping up in Harare (August 18 to 20). The talent show, established by the CFZ and Jacaranda Culture and Media Corporation, seeks to empower local talented youths in arts and culture.

Eland Bar

Tryson, Douglas and Allan Chimbetu will tomorrow take Dendera fans down memory lane as they share the stage at the Dendera Night concert at Eland Bar in Kuwadzana 6, Harare.

National Parks HQ

South African singer PJ Powers tonight performs as a guest artiste at the Green Concert at the Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Authority headquarters in Harare. At the concert, the Jabulani hitmaker will share the stage with Afro-fusion artistes Pah Chihera and Musa Effects together with Afro-jazz musician Dereck Mpofu.

Wingate Park Golf Course

Diana Samkange, Ba Shupi, Shashl, The Monkey Nuts, Reverb 7 and TK Beatz will on Sunday take turns to entertain merrymakers at the Unplugged Zimbabwe concert set for Wingate Park Golf Course in Pomona, Harare. Unplugged Zimbabwe is a monthly blankets and wine style music concert hosted in a family-friendly environment.

New Ambassador Hotel

New local film, Camouflage, will premiere tonight at a red carpet event at New Ambassador Hotel in Harare. The film revolves on the chemistry between Denzel and Tanya, symbolic of that of Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet in the epic movie, Titanic. The film that features top cast in the movie industry is a well-packaged production that brings out the universal fantasy of love into reality through theatre.

Harare International Conference Centre

Music superstar Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi and sungura maestro Alick Macheso will tonight headline a star-studded line up of performers including Sulumani Chimbetu, Killer T, Seh Calaz and Kinnah as they take turns to entertain revellers at the Harare International Conference Centre at the Winter Warmer concert. Emcees Templeman and wheel spinner Gary B will also add flavour at the concert.

Club Las Vegas

Alick Macheso tomorrow serenades revellers at Club Las Vegas in Southerton at the Winter Closure concert alongside Sasha and Talking Guitars

Alexandra Sports Club

Jah Prayzah will tomorrow headline this month’s edition of the One Big Party concert at Alexandra Sports Club in Harare. The Mudhara Vachauya hitmaker will share the stage with wheel spinners DJ RayDizz, Selekta Base and Dee Nosh.

Hunyani Hills Hotel

This year’s edition of the three- day Lake July Festival roars to life today with the Bonfire Party at Hunyani Hills Hotel on the shores of Lake Chivero before tomorrow’s Beach Party, with curtains coming down on Sunday with the Beach Picnic Party. Over 100 wheel spinners are expected to take turns on the turntables.

Club Connect, Bulawayo

Popular South African entertainer and dancer Zodwa Wabantu will make her debut performance in the country tomorrow as she entertains patrons at Club Connect, located at Cecil Hotel in Bulawayo. A lucky female patron who will dress up and dance like the Mzansi entertainer is set to win $300 at the event that will also feature wheel spinners Kead Wikead, Crazy Black and T Bass.

Msiteli High School, Bulawayo

Albert Nyathi will tomorrow relaunch the Albert Nyathi Talent Search (ANTS) programme at Msiteli High School in Bulawayo. The show which was previously held in 1999 and suspended because of Nyathi’s intensive international tours, targets students from both primary and secondary schools and affords them a chance to maximise their talents in performing arts such as poetry, music, dance, theatre and comedy.
