Chirinda had a two-week trial stint at Ubuntu Cape Town.

Bantu Rovers’ general manager Wilbert Sibanda yesterday confirmed Chirinda’s departure.

“He leaves today (yesterday) for Cape Town, they have offered him a contract, but he is yet to sign. It’s a blessing in disguise for the two to have left as it also gives a number of our youngsters in our squad a chance to prove themselves. We wish them well at the new club,” Sibanda said.

Chirinda, who turned 20 in January, scored three goals for Bantu Rovers in the first half of the season before he went for trials at Ubuntu Cape Town, who are coached by former Bafana Bafana defender Roger Links.

Bukhosi, who signed for three years with the club, left Bulawayo on Friday last week for Cape Town and put pen to paper without going for trials.

The former Under-20 Young Warriors skipper was leading the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League scoring chart with 10 goals and has been received well at Ubuntu Cape Town FC, which has another Zimbabwean Pernell Mckop as goalkeepers’ coach.

Links has heaped praises on Bukhosi.

“I believe we have signed one of Zimbabwe’s top young talents. We have secured a player who will bring pace, creativity and goals to the team. While our time together has been limited, Bukhosi has already brought a vibrant energy to the group. He is a confident and intelligent young man and I believe he will develop even more during his time at Ubuntu Cape Town,” Links was quoted by the club’s website.

Club chairman Michael Jenkins is also excited. “We are tremendously excited about the quality that Bukhosi brings to our squad. He is a young player who already is at a very high level, but with huge potential to get even better.” Jenkins said.
