Zanu PF won’t concede defeat: Chadzamira

RE-ELECTED Zanu PF Masvingo provincial chairman, Ezra Chadzamira, has told opposition parties to stop “wasting their time” campaigning in next year’s elections, declaring that the ruling party would continue to rule even if it loses the polls.

RE-ELECTED Zanu PF Masvingo provincial chairman, Ezra Chadzamira, has told opposition parties to stop “wasting their time” campaigning in next year’s elections, declaring that the ruling party would continue to rule even if it loses the polls.

Chadzamira, whose re-election is yet to be endorsed by the politburo, made the remarks at a recent Zanu PF interdistrict meeting in Rutenga.

“Tsvangirai won the 2008 presidential election, did he rule this country? Did he not know the way to State House? It is a sheer waste of time for the opposition political parties to go to elections against Zanu PF in 2018,” he said.

Chadzamira said it was just a formality for Zanu PF to go for elections.

“We go for elections to identify crooks in the party. Zanu PF will rule this country till the end of time let me tell you,” he declared.

Chadzamira’s remarks came as opposition leaders are plotting to contest the upcoming elections as a coalition, with one presidential candidate.

Chadzamira also urged Masvingo residents to guard against looting of their natural resources by outsiders.

“We are the richest province in the whole country, but we are poor. There is a lot of pillage of our resources from this province by outsiders. Some people are making us fight one another here in Masvingo, while they are looting our resources. Let us not be used to that extent,” Chadzamira said. — Mirror
