Harare magistrate Barbara Chimboza yesterday said the inquest would only open once Midzi’s relatives connected to the matter have been located.

Midzi is believed to have committed suicide inside his car on arrival at his Mnandi Farm in Beatrice on June 8, 2015.

He was found dead in his Ford Everest vehicle, whose doors were all locked. Police also recovered a half-full one-litre plastic container of methamidophos 600SL insecticide, two white midazolum tablets, an empty six-bulb pack of midazolum tablets, 10-bulb pack of blue coloured momicum tablets with five remaining, and a red plastic tumbler with a mixture of suspected methamidophos 600SL insecticide and crushed tablets from the car.

The body was ferried to a local hospital for a postmortem, whose results are expected to be revealed during the inquest hearing.
