Addressing journalists on the sidelines of the party’s belated commemorations of the Day of the African Child at the weekend, MDC Bulawayo youth spokesperson, Adrian Moyo said they were now ready to take part in the polls with or without reforms demanded by other opposition parties.

“As young people, we have resolved that we are going to participate in the coming elections because we want to deal with this problem (suffering) once and for all,” he said.

“It’s a problem that has caused many young people to relocate to different places across the globe, and as young people in Bulawayo, we have said, enough is enough, we are not going to keep running. We are against those calling for an election boycott as it is not an option,” Moyo said.

He accused the ruling Zanu PF party of stealing their future, saying they would participate in the 2018 elections in order to reclaim it.

“We have realised as young people that our destiny, our future has been hijacked by Zanu PF. We recognise as young people that most of the problems we are facing are rooted in the poor administration in this country.

“We are fully behind our leadership. We are endorsing their capabilities, and if there is any coalition deal to be signed, we know they are going to sign something that is for the betterment of this country, for the betterment of the young people to reclaim our destiny, and we are going to vote in our numbers,” Moyo added.

Zanu PF has, however, repeatedly denied charges of running down the economy, blaming everything on Western sanctions imposed on President Robert Mugabe’s regime.
