Teston Manana (53), who is represented by lawyer, Nicky Nhambura, denied the charges and will return to court on May 10.

According to prosecutor Brian Goto, the complainant, who is 27 years old, arrived at Mutare Polytechnic intending to repair furniture at the college and was referred to Manana, who is a warden and a lecturer at the institution.

Goto told the court that the accused was supposed to arrange accommodation and food for the complainant.

Later in the day, Manana drove the complainant around town. At around 10pm, the accused went to his house and offered the complainant accommodation, as he had no blankets.

Manana and the complainant then shared the same bed and blankets. The lecturer allegedly, without consent, started caressing complainant’s cheeks, chest and private parts.

The complainant, according to Goto, realised that the accused had an erect manhood and the complainant lied that he want to go to the toilet before escaping and alerting the security guards, who were manning the main gate.

The matter was reported to the police, leading to Manana’s arrest on April 28.
