Mutare magistrate, Innocent Bepura, heard that sometime between August last year and March this year, Emily Gwembe went on a housebreaking spree, where she used various means to gain entry into the victims’ homes, stealing cash and various household goods.

The court heard that on the first count, Gwembe broke into Plaxedes Matovanyika’s locked house using duplicate keys and stole four blankets, two comforters, cash amounting to $800, three pairs of shoes and some groceries.

Gwembe later struck at several homes in Mutare, using an iron bar to force open the doors and stealing various goods until her arrest last month.
