The awards, which have been running since 2011, aim to recognise and appreciate organisations and individuals, who are contributing to quality advancement in all sectors of Sadc.

Bonaqua still water automatically qualified to enter the Sadc awards after winning the 2016 National Annual Quality Awards organised by the Standards Association of Zimbabwe.

SZL product integrity and commercialisation executive, Jane Bwerinofa said quality was what makes Schweppes “different, better and special”.

“As a franchise bottler of The Coca-Cola Company, it is our promise to the consumer because quality is more than just what we taste, see, measure or manage. Quality shows itself in our every action,” she said.

This is the second time that SZL has scooped the quality award after Minute Maid Pulpy Orange was awarded the same accolade in 2015 at an event held in Democratic Republic of Congo.

Coca-Cola Marketing Activations manager, Vee Chibanda, said the award was an unassailable proof that the company and its bottling partners produce products of the highest quality.

“We are excited but not surprised that our Bonaqua is the best product for 2016/2017, not just in Zimbabwe but in the rest of the Southern Africa region. Bonaqua water impressed the judges, scored high on the quality, light and trendy PET packaging which also reflects creativity as well as a continued commitment to the environmental sustainability policies complimenting existing portfolio of Coca-Cola and Schweppes Zimbabwe brands,” Chibanda said.

Bonaqua still water is three years old in the Zimbabwean market.
