The week-long Francophone Cultural Festival roars into life tomorrow and will run until March 25 at Alliance Française in Harare and Bulawayo.

The festival highlights will include films, French dictation competition and a music concert that will see the two cities filled with vibrant sounds, sights, and tastes of France.

Jazz 24/7

Hope Masike tonight celebrates the music of mbira gurus, Mbuya Stella Chiweshe, the late Chiwoniso Maraire and Tete Joyce Warikandwa in a concert dubbed the Gwenyambirakadzi set for Jazz 24/7 in Harare.

The concert is meant to honour female artistes who popularised the mbira instrument by defying cultural odds.

Zebra Village

Dancehall musician Freeman will share the stage with Killer T on Sunday at Zebra Village in Mbare.

Both musicians are now using live bands, with Freeman backed by Dangerzone Band and Killer T supported by Hot Property Band.

Chez Zandi

Seasoned jazz sensation Prudence Katomeni-Mbofana on Sunday serenades patrons at the Back to Jazzics concert courtesy of the Zimbabwe Jazz Community Trust pencilled for Chez Zandi in Harare.

Dandaro Inn

Afro-jazz crooner Ashton Tapiwa Nyahora, popularly known as Mbeu, tonight croons to revellers at Dandaro Inn, Harare Showgrounds backed by his Mhodzi Tribe. The show is free of charge.

Jongwe Corner

Dancehall singer Kinnah tonight takes to the stage with BaShupi at Jongwe Corner in Hatfield.

Wheel spinners DJ K-Oss, DJ Tonny Touch and DJ Fitzroy will be on the decks.

Dotcom Gardens, Chinhoyi

Dendera musician Sulumani Chimbetu and raunchy dancer Beverly Sibanda will be on stage tonight, as they take turns to entertain merrymakers at Dotcom Gardens in Chinhoyi.

The dendera musician will bring back his ship to the capital tomorrow for a performance at Bar Rouge, situated at LongCheng Plaza.

Tippaz Bar and Night Club

Jah Prayzah and the Third Generation band tomorrow travel to the mining town of Shamva for a performance at Tippaz Bar and Night Club alongside Potifa Mopo and his Zinawa band.

St Don Bosco Catholic Church, Masvingo

Contemporary musician Andy Muridzo backed by his Jeetaz Band will be in Masvingo tomorrow for a show at ST Don Bosco Catholic Church’s fundraising gig. The Dherira hitmaker will share the stage with an array of Masvingo-based musicians across genres.

Caravan Park, Masvingo

Dancehall fans in Masvingo and surrounding areas will be in for a treat tonight as one of the most sought-after dancehall singers, Winky D and his Vigilance Band, performs at Caravan Park.

Tomorrow, they take their act to Beitbridge with a show at Pagomba Café.

Club Mandisa, Mutare

Chimurenga music exponent Bryn Taurai Mteki, popularly known as Sekuru Tau, tonight performs at Club Mandisa in Mutare, sharing the stage with sungura musician Obvious Mutani and Mandisa Kings and Queens.

Tomorrow the joint hosts an all-female band, SIRIPITI.

Mqombothi Sports Bar, Bulawayo

Popular dance group Bhinga Express will tonight showcase their dance moves at Mqombothi Sports Bar.

Tomorrow’ it’s a gents versus ladies night, as they will take to the stage competing in various games to entertain revellers.

Pub Lagondola

Wheel spinner DJ Decksta tonight will be doing his business on the turntables entertaining merrymakers.

Tomorrow, he is joined on the decks by DJ Phibz throwing a combination of house and Gqom tunes.

Club Nitrus, Victoria Falls

The recently opened joint will celebrate its official opening tonight with Afro-pop musiciancum-wheel spinner Mzoe7 alongside The Scriptures, Muffia King and OBhudi Bespace.
