Although most artistes go on annual leave at the beginning of the year, some among them like mbira princess, Hope Masike, contemporary musician, Andy Muridzo and veteran musician, Leonard “Karikoga” Zhakata will continue to entertain their fans at different venues.

Zhakata celebrates with fans at Club 007

Zhakata, who is still basking in the glory of his dominance on the Radio Zimbabwe Coca-Cola 2016 Top 50 competition, where three of his songs Madam Boss, Zvine Mwaka and Moyo Wekutenda topped the competition, tonight celebrates the victory with his loyal fans with a performance at Club 007 Hideout in Glendale.

Kenyan reggae sounds at Red Fox Hotel

Red Fox Hotel will reverberate to the sounds of reggae, as Kenyan reggae outfit, Black Supremacy tomorrow performs at the venue in Greendale. The outfit was supposed to have performed in the country on New Year’s Eve, but some of its members failed to receive clearance from immigration officials resulting in the postponement of the gig.

Mbira sounds at Jazz 24/7

With the year 2016 having gone down as a memorable and fruitful year for the princess of Mbira, Hope Masike, who managed to strengthen her brand, she has decided to continue from where she left last year, without taking a break, and tonight she performs at Jazz 24/7 located at corner Sam Nujoma Street and Robson Manyika Avenue in Harare.

Andy Muridzo at Inner Café

Contemporary musician, Andy Muridzo’s star is on the rise, as he appears to have struck the right chords, winning the hearts of music followers and promoters, who appreciate his music. After a successful United Kingdom tour, the Dherira hitmaker, backed by his Jeetaz Band, tonight entertains patrons at Inner Café located at corner Mbuya Nehanda Street and Jason Moyo Avenue in Harare. Tomorrow, he takes his act to Café B5 in Budiriro supported by dancehall star, Boom Beto.

Starbrite grand finale beckons

Arts talent search programme, Starbrite’s grand finale is on today and tomorrow at FOG House in Bulawayo, where about 31 aspiring artistes will battle for honours at the competition’s finals. This year’s competition will be held in memory of the late dendera musician, Simon Chimbetu.

In a bid to maintain the festive mood, tonight, wheel spinner DJ Decksta hosts the Friday Deep House sessions. DJ Decksta becomes the first wheel spinner this year to introduce the Deep House sessions after they became a favourite for many last year.

The newest club in town, Club Connect, located at Cecil Hotel, tonight hosts DJ Ericardo’s welcome party, which will also feature Brandon that Guy, DJ Mzoe and the most rocking female DJ in Bulawayo, Norma That Girl.

Club 263, located along George Silundika Street in Bulawayo, will tonight host The George party featuring an array of wheel spinners among them resident DJs Kead Wikead, St Wills and Fff Molfy. On the intervals, patrons stand a chance of winning complimentary gifts.
