Mahachi, who is riding on the crest of a wave with his video Usacheme, said collaborations were a sure-fire way to accomplish more for the glory of God.

“I have intensified my strength on collaborations this year. I am working with a prominent South African gospel artiste and locally, I will release a song that features a top act. I will not disclose the names right now,” he said.

Mahachi said his duet with American singer, Isaac Simpson titled He Cares For You, would be released this year.

Mahachi said he was left devastated by the death of South African gospel star S’fiso Ncwane, with whom he collaborated on the song Ndinoda Jesu off his album Declarations.

“We had planned so many projects with brother S’fiso, including touring the continent. It was a tour going to run under the theme African Brothers. There were also plans to perform in Europe with the hope of reaching out to gospel music lovers in the Diaspora,” he said.

Mahachi’s album, Declarations was nominated a record 12 times for various awards, which included the Courageous Gospel awards as well as Crown Gospel awards in South Africa.

The Ndibvumbamirei hit-maker has shared the stage with several South African musicians, among them Ncwane, Thina Zungu, Dumi Mkokstad, Rebecca Malope, Benjamin Dube and Khaya Mthethwa at different festivals.

Known for dressing in fancy suits, Mahachi said plans to create a fashion line with the assistance of award-winning local designer, Thembani Mubochwa were at an advanced stage.

Albums under his belt are Miyedzo, released in 2007, Kure, a 2010 production, and Agare and Declarations released in 2014.
