The outspoken government and Zanu PF official made the remarks in Mutare at the weekend during a farewell party for former provincial administrator, Fungai Mbetsa, who has been transferred to Masvingo province in the same capacity.

“I am going to fire two administrators before June. They are not doing their work, we will discuss the matter with Mbetsa. I am not going to name them today because I know they have come here with their wives. We need people who work because this is tough year, we are going towards elections next year, so we all need to win elections,’’ she said.

Manicaland has seven district administrators.

Chimene also disputed speculation that she was targeting a higher government post.

“I have no ambition to rise, I don’t need to move from my current position because I have everything in this province. People think that I am not educated, but my position does not need any paperwork. I have experience in politics, all I need is for people with degrees to assist me with any information in my office,’’ she said.
