DYNAMOS coach, Lloyd Mutasa says his team will start their bid for the forthcoming Premier Soccer League championship as underdogs following the departure of several key players to rival clubs.

The Glamour Boys, winners of four successive championships under Kalisto Pasuwa between 2011 and 2014, have struggled to secure the championship — losing it to Chicken Inn in 2015 and then beaten to it by old foes Caps United last term after their disastrous experiment with Portuguese coach, Paulo Jorge Silva.
“After losing several players to other clubs with the financial muscle, we can’t wake up today and say we can compare with the likes of FC Platinum and Caps United. For us, we need to dig deep into our reserves to achieve things,” Mutasa said yesterday.
“At Dynamos, we would want to achieve things and every coach would want to be number one. We didn’t do well last season and we would want to have a change of fortunes. We want to atone for that.”
The club hierarchy has given Mutasa the mandate to lead the team this term.
He has also been given the greenlight to beef up his technical team.
With the club demanding positive results in the first five games of the campaign, Mutasa said they would want to atone for the disappointment of the last campaign.

He said the fact that they had not been able to compete in the transfer market with rivals like Caps United and FC Platinum, meant they would begin the campaign as rank outsiders.
The Glamour Boys lost Soccer Star of the Year finalist Godknows Murwira and Dominic Mukandi, who have sealed deals with Ngezi Platinum, while highly-rated midfielder Brett Amidu has been snapped up by FC Platinum.
Goalkeeper Tatenda Mukuruva is also likely to leave, as he has not yet renewed his contract, which expired on December 31, while skipper Stephen Alimenda’s future is also uncertain, as he has also not extended his deal, which lapsed at the end of the year.
Faced with such a situation, Mutasa has been forced to conduct auditions.
Most of the players that have been on trials this week are mostly youngsters under the age of 20, but the Dynamos gaffer insists some of them would compete for places in the senior team.
