You’re faithfully called

Opinion & Analysis
The Christian hope lies on the faithfulness and trustworthiness of God. In His goodness towards humanity, God put the demand on Himself in Christ Jesus to secure His promises to us. He fulfilled His sincerity in the finished works of Jesus Christ.

The issue, therefore, is not whether God means His will towards us, but whether we will accept and receive His kindness to us. God is faithful to your calling in Christ. Whatever your purpose and destiny is; God has faithfully called you to accomplish it. Your preoccupation is not, therefore, trying to rope Him in to your mission, but submitting to His call for your life.

The Bible establishes in 1 Thessalonians 5:24: “Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.” You need to always stand in the confidence of the faithfulness of God the Father. The Gospel of Christ, which is the grace of God, offers us peace by guaranteeing us His commitment to our calling as believers. We cherish the promises of God and rest in the assurance that He is faithful. As born again believers we do not live in fear and doubt. Our trust is not in us ,but in what God did in Christ. The finished works of Jesus Christ cannot be undone. It is sealed in the blood of Jesus. This was conceived and settled before the foundation of the world and stands forever.

The above quoted verse casts the light that God knows and notices you. He called you and you are not on your own; you are standing on the strength of His voice and Word by which He called you. The eye of the Lord is upon you for His special assignment for your life. I may not know your resolutions and declarations for the year and for your life in general, however, the truth is that as long as you are in sync with His will in the Christian calling, you will make it. It is not really that you will make it, but that God made it in you in Christ. God is faithful to perform what He called you for. It is not your duty to do it, but His pleasure to do it. Your response is to believe, yield and be available.

The issue has to be understood in parentheses with the preceding verse. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 reads: “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” You are assured of God’s sincerity to your sanctification. God our Father of peace assures that we are whole; spirit, soul and body. We are preserved blameless in His sight. Because we are called to God in Christ, it’s God’s desire and heartbeat that we are catered for; spirit, soul and body.

As we grow and mature, we will appreciate that God relishes the actualisation of His promises in our lives. 2 Corinthians 1:20 teaches: “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” We yield and assent to these promises and God receives the glory. The wisdom of God operates in us and we are not hoodwinked by the devil and his agents to believing lies that God is keeping His promises away from us. He did not spare His Son for our sake. I have repeatedly emphasised the truth of the Gospel that Christianity is a spiritual reality and conscious awareness of what Christ did. Furthermore, in rhetoric, the Bible challenges us in Romans 8:32: “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” We are in Christ and with Him we access all things freely. I emphasise, all and freely.

We do not shake in our stance in expressing God’s view and desire for our lives. Our hope and boldness come from our knowledge of the truth that God our Father who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23 clarifies: “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)” We are, therefore, not tossed around by false and deceiving winds. We do not lean nor take cue from our situation, circumstance or environment but from God. We are not explained by our outward appearance but we explain our outside circumstances. Please always remember, grace and peace be multiplied to you through knowledge. You are going somewhere.

All Bible quotations are from the King James Version unless otherwise stated.
