Organisers 2 Kings Entertainment spokesperson, Dee Nosh, told NewsDay that the other artistes, who were voted for together with Winky D and Transit crew by fans, would be unveiled on the day of the concert.

“We had given the fans the opportunity to choose their favourite artistes to share the stage with Jah Cure through a voting platform, which has been running for the past few weeks and they have spoken, as Winky D, Transit Crew, emcee Templeman and emcee Stansplash and Judgement Yard have emerged as among the fans’ favourites,” he said.

“We have organised a tour of some ghetto suburbs like Mbare, Highfield, Mufakose and Chitungwiza for Jah Cure to meet some of the youths he inspires and, if time permits, he might do some collaborations with our local artistes.”

Although Transit Crew have played alongside top Jamaican reggae singers, Culture, Eric Donaldson and Ijahman Levi during tours of Zimbabwe, they have been downgraded to performing at small gigs, where they hardly attract a full house.

Transit Crew manager, Fred Zindi said the group, which has had a low profile lately, has now risen with new energy. “Transit Crew has been on a low profile due to unexpected deaths of two of its main members, but have now risen with new vigour,” he said.

Jah Cure arrived in the country yesterday with some of his 12-member band, with the rest expected in the country tomorrow.
