The musician, who has three other albums — Nemiwo Munazvo, Murodzi Wepfungwa and Tsono – believes his latest offering would take him where he belongs, among the top of sungura musicians.
“It was something that I was not expecting. We performed before a full house. The crowd enjoyed every minute of it, especially the songs Ndizvo Here and Ndinokutendai,” he said.
The businessman and musician, whose music is reported to be more popular in Mozambique than in Zimbabwe, said despite his tight schedule, he will be going around the country during the festive season to promote his latest album.
“On December 23, I will be in Chimoio, Mozambique, before a performance at Murombedzi Growth Point in Zvimba, Mashonaland West. On New Year’s Eve I will be in Chipinge,” he said.
Samaita seems to have struck the right chord with the five-track album that was produced by Bothwell Nyamhondera and is being marketed and distributed by Diamond Studios.
Currently, the album is the top selling at Diamond Studios.

Samaita said he was expecting to complete his nationwide tour by March and then commit on working on the accompanying DVD.
Samaita, now a born again Christian, said he was inspired by the late sungura ace, Tongai Moyo.
“He played a pivotal role in my music. I have even featured his chanter, Shiga Shiga in two of my new songs. Sometimes I play one or two of his songs at my shows. We will keep his legacy alive,” he said.
Samaita’s latest album carries five tracks – Ndizvo Here, Usatuke Mvuu, Ndave Kuenda, Ndinokutendai and Jerusarema that features gospel diva Agatha Murudzwa.
