The former champions will meet with the player today, where they will offer him a contract extension as his current deal runs out on December 31.

The full-back is the second player from Dynamos to be linked with champions Caps United after midfielder Brett Amidu.

However, DeMbare have given the strongest hint that they want to retain their players ahead of the forthcoming season after they called for a meeting with Mushure.

Club treasurer, Webster Marechera could not be reached for comment yesterday, but Mushure confirmed the scheduled meeting. The defender refused to discuss reports linking him with Caps United.

“What I know is that I have been called by Dynamos for a meeting tomorrow to discuss the issue of a contract. They had told me that they will call me once they get things in place so I will be meeting the leadership. My contract is coming to an end this month, but my heart has always been with Dynamos. I cannot say much until after the meeting,” Mushure said.

Dynamos has been struggling to raise funds to sign players, but reports suggest that they have raised some money and have now started to negotiate with players whose contracts expire at the end of the month.

Brett Amidu, has also engaged in talks with Caps United and FC Platinum. However, the highly-rated 20-year-old has reportedly decided to remain with Dynamos. His contract also expires at the end of the month.

Soccer Star of the Year finalist, Godknows Murwira, goalkeeper Tatenda Mukuruva and captain Stephen Alimenda are some of the players, whose contracts expire on December 31.

Dynamos had a largely poor season after finishing in fifth place in the championship race and are looking to right the wrongs of the past in 2017.

Their rivals Caps United, who won their first championship in 11 years, are battling to strengthen ahead of the December 31 deadline to submit their squad for the African Champions League.

The Green Machine, who have set a target of reaching at least the group stage of the lucrative tournament, also have several players, whose contracts come to an end this month.

Midfielders Tafadzwa Rusike and Abbas Amidu and vice-captain, Stephen Makatuka’s contracts expire at the end of the month. Makatuka has been a subject of interest from South African National First Division side AmaZulu.
