The Call On Me hitmaker made the remarks at a Press conference in Harare ahead of his maiden performance in Zimbabwe tomorrow at the Harare International Conference Centre.

“To be honest, I only have three albums, three official albums that I know I sat down and worked on as albums. The first album in my life was Ghetto Life, the second album was called World Cry and the third was my last, nominated for the Grammys last year, which is The Cure,” he said.

“The rest, what you see out there, is just people who were putting together songs when I was incarcerated and call it an album, but they are not albums because I did not approve it.”

Jah Cure hinted on working with local artistes, saying it was possible to have collaborations with them. The Jamaican said his incarceration strengthened him and shaped him to be who he is today.

“Incarceration taught me that if your works uplift people no matter how down you are, as a leader, you have to find solutions and that does not take away your mission. The jail life has inspired me to be strong,” he said. Jah Cure said as part of his playlist, he would perform songs by incarcerated Grammy-winning reggae singer, Buju Banton, and dancehall artiste, Vybz Kartel, as a way of showing compassion for them.

“Everywhere I go, it’s part of myself to sing about Buju Banton and Vybz Kartel . . . because there was a moment that everybody was singing ‘Free Jah Cure’ and I also have to stand up and inspire,” he said, promising a polished acts.

Winky D, who is among the supporting acts at the concert, promised a different set, saying it would be his first time to perform songs off his latest album Gafa Futi Chi Extraterrestrial at a show of such magnitude, also promising fans to expect an action-packed set.

Urban groover, Trevor Dongo was also unveiled as part of the supporting acts.

Organisers 2 Kings Entertainment spokesperson, Dee Nosh has dismissed as doctored a list that has gone viral on different social media platforms claiming local artistes Ammara Brown, Zimdancehall singer, Killer T and hip-hop artiste, Takura have been included as supporting acts.

“The other artistes, who were voted together with the released names, will remain a secret and will be unveiled on the concert day.”
