Tungamirai Madzokere (41), Yvonne Musarurwa (29) and Last Maengahama (40) were on September 6 convicted of murder with actual intent, while their co-accused, Phineas Nhatarikwa was convicted for being an accessory to the crime.

Nhatarikwa was yesterday fined $500 in addition to a wholly suspended three-year jail term.

Immediately after the sentence was handed down, the defence team, led by Beatrice Mtetwa, indicated it would file an application for bail pending appeal on December 20.

The four were part of the 29 Glen View MDC-T activists, who were arrested five years ago and charged with murdering Mutedza during skirmishes that rocked the suburb.
