The cotton-growing area came to a standstill on Sunday, as some of the finest players produced in the country took centre stage.

Pasuwa was joined by former Dynamos star, Masimba Dinyero, former Caps United defenders Dumisani Mpofu, David Sengu and Michael Mavuru, among others.

The legends emerged victorious with a 2-0 scoreline, but for Pasuwa what was more important was talent identification.

Speaking to NewsDaySport, Pasuwa said the purpose of the visit was to identify talent in remote areas and recommend such players to other clubs in the cities.

“We want to help talented youngsters to pursue their dreams. It’s not that we will field them in the national team for the Africa Cup of Nations next year, but to recommend them to other local clubs in the city,” he said.

The organisers of the match, Junior Club proprietor, Jacob Sundawo and former Shabanie Mine and Lancashire Steel midfielder, Albert Mbano thanked the legends for the visit, saying this would encourage players in the area to work hard in pursuing their dreams.

“We are happy to have these legends here and their visit alone will help motivate the younger players,” Sundawo said.

Gokwe is home to prominent players who include Energy Murambadoro, Sebastian Mutizirwa, Mpofu and Tobias Sibanda.
