God is proud of you

There are Christians who erroneously assume that God is glorified and exalted when they approach Him regarding themselves unworthy. They naively consider it humility to tell God that they are dust and ashes. It’s a slap in the finished works of Jesus Christ.

DEVOTION: Erasmus Makarimayi

We boldly approach God’s throne of grace for He’s merciful. Religion makes it appear as if God feels great when believers feel distant from their Father. He blinds the vulnerable away from close contact relationship with God. The devil relishes it when believers conclude they are so far from God and unworthy thereby denying themselves fellowship and nourishing communion with God. Religion is wicked. Please always know that Satan is not in the business of siding with you. God was in Christ reconciling us to Him and we are in Christ reconciled to God.

As a believer, be always conscious of the cardinal truth and reality that you’re in Christ. You’re not the past unsaved person. 2 Corinthians 5:17 declares, “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” It, therefore, follows that God who did the work in Christ to bring us to Himself is satisfied with what He did. It wasn’t a mediocre work. Hebrews 2:11 points out: “For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,” We are sanctified in Christ so that we become of God. Christ Himself is of God and both Him and us are of God. For this reason Christ is not ashamed to have us and call us brothers and sisters.

To stress the point further, the Bible makes it clear that Jesus did not come in the form of an angel, but humankind to redeem humankind. The truth is that we shall judge angels. 1 Corinthians 6:3 teaches: “Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?” Jesus Christ is the incarnation of God by which He didn’t decide to redeem fallen angels, but fallen woman/mankind. The Amplified version of the Bible sets it clearly in Hebrews 2:16: “For, as we all know, He [Christ] did not take hold of angels [the fallen angels, to give them a helping and delivering hand], but He did take hold of [the fallen] descendants of Abraham [to reach out to them a helping and delivering hand].” You are valuable to God and He prides in you.

You may wonder if you measure up. God qualified us in Christ. It’s not on us, but on Him. This is the grace of God. Jude 1:1 tells us: “Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:” Believers are sanctified, i.e. set apart and holy in Christ. It is God who said and says we are sanctified. It is not of your making nor other people’s view or the observation by the devil. Whatever God does is always good. Ecclesiastes 3:14 observes: “I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.” That settles the matter, the opinion of the religious and legalistic world will not disqualify you.

Jude further assures us that we are preserved in Christ. Since you are in Christ you cannot depreciate and lose value. Your in-Christ reality is permanently permanent and perfectly perfect. It is an eternal truth which cannot be undone. The verse further states that we are called. That calling cannot be reversed. You are sanctified, preserved and called. Paul concludes of this in Romans 8:38-39: “[38] For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, [39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” You are in the league, you belong and God is proud of you. Grace and peace be multiplied to you through knowledge.

You’re going somewhere.
