Highlanders have secured third spot, as Akbay has managed to attain his target of a top-four finish set by his bosses.

He is already thinking about next season and he will give rookies a chance to play first team football, as he seeks an insight of what he can do to improve his team next term.

“This weekend, we will be playing our youngsters, I am appealing to our supporters to come and watch these boys,” the Dutchman, who has bemoaned the lack of lethal strikers in his squad, said.

Highlanders could see the return of Brian Banda and Adrian Silla and get a chance to see young striker, McCarthy Dube blending in with Prince Dube and Godfrey Makaruse.

Also in the frame for today’s match are defenders Bukhosi Ncube and Nkosana Ndlovu.

Akbay will also have another look at his targets in the Hwange camp, who include striker, Gift Mbweti and Newman Sianchali.

Hwange have not much to fight for either. With the PSL insisting that only two teams will drop to Division One, the coalminers are safe from relegation.

But they will go all out for maximum points just to steer away from the bottom four places in case the PSL loses its fight against Zifa, who want four teams to be relegated while the same number are promoted from Division One.

In other matches of interest, Dynamos take on Chicken Inn at Rufaro Stadium in a straight fight for the number four spot.

DeMbare go into this match two points ahead of the reigning champions and the winner today wiil claim a place among the top four, which may come handy in cup competitions next year.

Both teams have had a disappointing season and are already looking ahead to next season.

Mutare City Rovers take their relegation fight to Mhondoro, where they face Ngezi Platinum Stars, as they seek to beat the drop.

A win for Mutare gives them a chance of surviving at the expense of Tsholotsho, who play FC Platinum today.
