After losing the first Test, Zimbabwe selectors will be looking to effect a couple of changes to strengthen both the batting and bowling department.

It is likely that Malcolm Waller could be victim with Musakanda taking his place in the second Test with the hosts looking to salvage the series.

Waller struggled for runs in the first Test which Zimbabwe lost by 225 runs despite putting up spirited resistance and at some point looked likely to force a draw on the final day.

He managed just 22 runs in the two innings of the first Test with a duck in the second.

Musakanda demanded recognition with some good performances in the Zim A team that played Pakistan A last month. He played in one of the two four day matches and scored eight and 87 in the two innings.

Before that he played in all five one-day internationals between the two teams and his scores were 51, 40, 99 not out, 24 and two. The selectors will be looking to further inject new blood in the team after giving seam bowler Carl Mumba his first cap in the first Test.

Mumba went on to take five wickets in both innings showing encouraging sings for the future.

Musakanda will be looking to get some success in his first outing for the national team and in the batting department he will be surrounded by a lot of experience with Tino Mawoyo and Hamilton Masakadza up there in the top order.

Having batted at number three in both the unofficial Test and the limited overs against Pakistan, the 22-year old is likely to get a place in the lower middle order.

Zimbabwe may also want to bring in a different bowler for the second Test.
