Event planning director, Ontrance Mureverwi, said they were pleased to have sealed the deal with Ammara.

“The inaugural awards ceremony is set to be a premier red carpet event that will honour the outstanding achievements of Zimbabweans based in the United States of America, and will recognise their work across a number of industries that include business and the media,” he said in a statement.

Ammara’s manager, Tsungi Zvobgo, however, told NewsDay that there were still a few areas that needed to be ironed out before they sign the deal.

“The deal is not final yet. I have to speak to the organisers first before I give details,” she said.

Mureverwi said, the nomination process will end on November 6 before the ZAA panel begins the verification of, and deliberate over, the results to come up with the list of winners.

With her eclectic music style, fused with influences of Afro and urban sounds, Ammara continues to shine in her career. She has become one of the most-sought-after female artistes in Zimbabwe, having collaborated with several local and international artistes across genres.

Her latest collaboration is with ExQ’s on Bhachura, which has received rave reviews.

Apart from collaborations and sharing the stage with both top local and international artistes, Ammara has performed at prestigious concerts like the 2010 Fifa World Cup held in South Africa, alongside South African rapper, Flabba and she has also performed for the late Malawi President Bingu Wa Mutharika.p
