At the event, organised by Delta Beverages, through their Castle Lager brand, the Tozeza Baba hitmaker will share the stage with Amara Brown and dancehall icon, Killer T, alongside an array of wheel spinners.

According to the organisers, for every kilogramme of meat consumed on the day, Castle Lager will donate an equivalent amount to be shared equally by Mpilo General Hospital in Bulawayo and Harare Central Hospital.

Fife Street and 8th Avenue, Bulawayo

Delta Beverages tomorrow hosts the annual Castle Lite Extra Cold Block Party at corner Fife Street and 8th Avenue in Bulawayo. Narcotics, weapons, glass and beverage containers will not be allowed at the event. he free open-air party will feature artistes DJ Liz, DJ Mzoe, DJ Kead Wikead, Babongile Sikhonjwa, DJ Crazy Black, DJ Pam and award-winning hip-hop sensation, Cal_Vin. Several activities have also been lined up for the event, including the new Castle Lite Unlocker Challenge, the Extra Cold Challenge Units and Extra Cold Photo Booth.

Murewa Culture Centre

The annual Jerusarema-Mbende Festival roars into life today at Murewa Culture Centre in Mashonaland East province, with about 20 primary schools competing for honours at the popular event that is sponsored by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation. There will also be theatre, poetry and mbira lessons, with renowned Jerusarema-Mbende groups like Ngoma Dzepasi, Makarekare and popular drummer, Douglas Vambe performing, while Malome Tau and his 10-member band will also spice up the event. On Saturday, there will be a tour of Murewa Caves, where the Mbende drumbeats will continue alongside other artistic disciplines, including modelling, that will be held at the culture centre.

News Café, Fife Avenue

Huggiez Entertainment tomorrow moves their 10th anniversary celebrations to News Cafe Fife Avenue in Harare. Veteran wheel spinners among them D-Train, Witness Matema, Flabba and Kudzi Marudza, will take turns to rock it on the turntables.

Wild Geese Lodge

Several fashion designers today converge at Wild Geese Lodge in Harare for the Cotton to Clothing 2016 indaba courtesy of the Association of Cotton Value Adders of Zimbabwe. The event will see fashion designers exchanging notes while at the same time connecting with cotton farmers and the tertiary institutions, who have fashion and design on their curriculum. Zuvva Designers, Tariro Muza’s Collection and Thembani Mubochwa will also showcase their range of designers.

The Embassy of Sweden tonight opens an outdoor photo exhibition dubbed Swedish Dads, a presentation about gender-aware modern men. The photo exhibition explores how Swedish fathers view the modern male role in contrast to the traditional stereotype parental role. The event will be attended by different stakeholders.

Rainbow Hotel, Bulawayo

Highlanders Football Club technical adviser and goalkeepers’ coach, Cosmas “Tsano” Zulu, tonight trades his coaching skills for the microphone, as he shares the stage with top comedians, Ntando Van Moyo, Clive Chigubhu and Babongile Skhonjwa at the monthly show dubbed Umahlekisa at Rainbow Hotel in Bulawayo.

Dominion Hall tomorrow hosts a night of worship through dance, spoken word and drama at Celebration Centre in Borrowdale, Harare.

A bevy of 26 male and female models from the country’s Rotaract clubs will tomorrow walk on the ramp for the coveted title of Mr and Miss Roca at On the Roof in Harare. The second edition of the pageant will be running under the theme Modelling With A Heart for Charity.

Zora musician, Leonard Zhakata, backed by his Zimbabwe All Stars band, starts his weekend shows tonight with a performance at Gwaya Gwaya Night Club in Chinhoyi. Tomorrow, he joins forces with sungura musician, Francis “Franco Slomo” Dhaka and his Extra Kwazvose outfit to entertain merrymakers at Chikangwe Tavern in Karoi. The Hupenyu Mutoro hit-maker returns to Harare on Sunday for a performance at Extra Mile Leisure Spot supported by Sulumani Chimbetu.

CSC Social Club, Chinhoyi

Dendera ace, Sulumani Chimbetu tonight performs at CSC Social Club in Chinhoyi. Tomorrow, he will be in Harare for a performance at Bar Rouge, located at Longcheng Plaza in Belvedere, before rounding up his weekend shows with a performance at Extra Mile Leisure Spot alongside Leonard Zhakata.

Dangamvura Hotel, Mutare

Sungura godfather, Nicholas “Madzibaba” Zacharia and Khiama Boys tomorrow perform at Dangamvura Hotel. They will share the stage with The Chilly Boys dance group alongside Mutare-based sungura group, Hungwe Stars, fronted by Simba Muchita, who will also be launching their latest album, Teya Mhepo.

Chitungwiza-based dancehall artiste, Ricky Fire tonight entertains revellers at Club Mandisa in Mutare. Tomorrow, the joint hosts another dancehall chanter, Seh Calaz, supported by Mandisa Kings and Queens

Famous dance group, Girls La Musica tonight entertains patrons at GVZ Leisure Centre in Hwange. Tomorrow, they take their act to Kudu Bar in the resort town of Victoria Falls.
