The group’s performance was so on point that it kept musicians Charles and Olivia Charamba, as well as producer Clive Mono Mukundu and clergyman Brighton Chikomo, among others, who attended the launch, on their feet.

The DVD album launch, which was held at Kingstons in Harare, saw gospel music prodigy, Talent Chigwana opening the night, before the Zimpraise trio of Ellard Cherayi, Sharon Manyonganise and Wencilus “Mpostori Wency” Makungisa blew fans away with a class act.

The Remnants then took to the stage at around 8:30pm and were joined by music producer, Forward Mazuruse, who performed his much-loved song, Muneni, from his debut album, Jesus is Everything (Jesu Ndiye Zvese), to the fans’ delight.

Charamba, who was the guest of honour, also joined the group on stage as they played renditions of some of his hits.

“What we have witnessed today is the birth of a gospel music outfit that is here to stay and I want to salute The Remnants for their originality. In as much as they may borrow an idea or two from established artistes, their class is undoubted and I am really happy for them,” Charamba said.
