One of his goals is to see more local athletes participating at international events.

Tagara was re-elected unopposed in elections in Mvuma, where all executive members retained their posts.

In an interview with NewsDaySport yesterday, Tagara said they have built confidence with various stakeholders in the country and abroad and believes that they are going to be successful in their four-year new term in office. “The entire executive retained their posts, and l was not opposed. We have a talented executive, during the next coming four years l am targeting to buy a bus and to have partners especially in the track and field events,’’ he said.

‘’We are also eager to set regional offices in Bulawayo and Harare y. Our partners now have confidence in us and we are hopeful that they are going to assist us in various ways. We are targeting to send our athletes to all international major events and we have been trying hard despite the economic challenges facing the country. We enjoy cordial relationships with the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee and the Sports and Recreation Committee, among other organisations,’’ he said.
