THREE popular Zimbabwean gospel musicians will headline the second edition of Explosion of Praise 2 Concert set for December 9 and December 10 in Leicester and Wolverhampton, United Kingdom.

Gospel music godfather, Machanic Manyeruke will lead the line-up of local artistes, who include Mathias Mhere and Bethany Pasinawako, as they are billed to share the stage with other United Kingdom-based Zimbabwean musicians at the concert.
At the potentially explosive shows that roar to life at Salvation Army Church in Leicester and ends at International Life Centre in Wolverhampton, the trio will share the stage with Staceley Rhoda Masawi aka Mai Tongogara and Timothy Ngwenya, among others.
With the star-studded line-up of performers, who are known to delight guests during their respective live shows, fireworks are expected at the concert.
Speaking to NewsDay, from her London base, one of the concert organisers, Mai Tongogara, said the shows will be a mix of deep worship and ultimate praise.
“The Explosion of Praise Concert is aimed at uniting Zimbabwean gospel musicians in the Diaspora and those in Zimbabwe for their contribution to the growth of the genre, as they minister through music,” she said.
Mai Tongogara said they are expecting more people this year compared to the inaugural edition held in Manchester last year, which featured Togarepi Chivaviro and an array of United Kingdom-based artistes, among them Timothy Ngwenya, Linda Chikomo and Marty Makoni.

“From the experience I got last year, with the help of both Zimbabweans, who are based here and back home, I am confident that this year’s edition will be more organised to surpass the inaugural concert,” she said.
Mai Tongogara, who recorded her debut album in 2014 said she will be launching her third album titled Pembera, which she featured Pasinawako on song Munyaradzi, at the Wolverhampton concert.
Some of the songs on the album are Ishe Ndinzwe Nokufara, Baba Ndinotenda, Jesu Chiedza, Makaita Zvenyu, Vana VeZimbabwe and Mbiri Kuna Jesu.
Meanwhile, Pasinawako, who is set to stage her debut performance in the UK yesterday told NewsDay that she was pleased to be part of the performers, promising her fans nothing short of a top-notch performance.
“This is something special for me to be among the best, who will be performing at the concert. We will present our fans an early Christmas present at the show, so they must come in their numbers and witness the best of me, as will be dishing out a massive rehearsed performance,”she said.
