According to an Employer Resignation Survey conducted by Industrial Psychology Consultancy recently, respondents to the survey show that 82% would tell their bosses the reason why they are leaving if they were to resign, while 18% said they would be secretive about their decisions.

The survey said 60% of the participants were actively looking for a new job, while 40% were not.

“A large percentage, 63%, of the participants are going to leave their current employers if the economy turns around and 37% are not going to leave their employers,” part of the findings show.

The economy is performing poorly, with workers at most companies going for months without salaries, while others have been retrenched, going home empty-handed.

The report shows that 77% of the respondents were not happy with their current earnings.

It showed that most of the participants at the lower level were looking for a new job, while those at the management level were happy with their organisations.

Respondents showed that 52% would find it easy to hand in their resignations.

“The majority of respondents, 82%, have not been retrenched in their working career. Only 18% mentioned that they have been retrenched in their working career,” the survey said.

The respondents were drawn from 466 companies from various sectors such as financial services, manufacturing, information telecommunications, public service, agro-processing, agriculture, medicines and pharmaceuticals.
