MDC-T national organising secretary, Abednico Bhebhe yesterday told Southern Eye that the Zanu PF government was not doing Mugabe any favour by concealing details about his health.

“Mugabe’s old age and health status is pushing Zimbabwe towards civil unrest. There is surely no shame in admitting all is not well with Mugabe at his advanced age of 92 years,” he said.

“It is embarrassing and sad to see or hear people getting excited over reports of Mugabe’s ill health, a sure sign that it is time up and only time will tell whether Zimbabweans, who are saying he must resign, can continue accepting a situation where their President spends time travelling seeking medical treatment.

“Human physiology dictates that at 92, all will not be well and Mugabe must admit and call it quits than become an embarrassment to himself and the nation.”

Bhebhe, however, said Zimbabweans must avoid being goaded into violent confrontations with police and Zanu PF youths over the Mugabe issue.

“Alertness, vigilance, confidence and unity shall take us through. The weapons used being courage, love, determination, vigilance and unity will be known as the most powerful weapon of all. Our lives will tell a story that we are the generation that peacefully stood against an evil and heartless dictatorship and prevailed,” he said.

MDC-T MPs have launched a campaign for Mugabe’s impeachment in Parliament.
