The spread of grace

Opinion & Analysis
HERE has been a significant rise in the availability of grace message over the years. Books have been written, newspaper columns launched, television programmes, Internet platforms and other media offering alternatives. The rate of the spread of truth is very encouraging. Globally and locally the Gospel of Christ is spreading and truth is becoming more common.

Revelation of the truth will halt mushrooming of cults and false doctrines. Lies and deceptions will become more exposed and evident. Together with other sources and the feedback I get on this platform, the number of Christians who now know the truth of the Gospel of Christ is commendable.

Many are moving away from cults, religion and false doctrines. False preachers, cults and agents of the devil will one day remain with empty buildings (for those who use buildings).

What the death, burial, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ produced is sometimes, if not most of the times, relegated to the periphery of the pulpit. The naïve congregant is belittled by vain human philosophies.

The hearer feels inadequate and is always at the mercy of the false teacher, pastor or prophet. Whenever human deceit is presented, the hearer never gets to appreciate that she/he is adequate in Christ. She/he is always defeated; meditating on falling short of the glory of God.

The Bible warns in Colossians 2:8, “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” All power lies in the the Gospel, which is the Grace of God.

Apostle Paul had this revelation and he said in Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

It’s unfortunate that there’re Christians who are very bitter with God after they were made to believe in God on terms that are not biblical. Some parted with large sums of money, various fortunes or went through so-called “deliverance” sessions in order to get married or get jobs, visas or some other favour from God. It’s the ploy of the devil to blind you from the finished works of Jesus.

God paid for everything in Christ and paying for it is double jeopardy. Failing to believe the completeness of the finished works of Jesus Christ is antichrist. The whole essence of the Gospel of Christ is to receive what He did and partake with thanksgiving and the promises of the accomplished work will manifest in your life. Preaching of the cross is presentation of Christ as the grace of God. (1 Corinthians 1:17-18).

No money, seed or works of this world was needed for God to send His beloved Son. It takes a deceiver to confuse you to buy what is for free. We’re saved or made believers by grace and we’re kept by grace and we will make it into heaven by grace.

Romans 5:8 points, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

No human delegation, tithe or offering was sent to heaven to bring Jesus down here to save us. All we do is stand in awe and reverence of such love, mercy and grace of God with gratitude. So we go to church with our money and substance to thank Him and worship Him.

We’re not reimbursing Him but rather thanking Him. We’re not inducing Him, He already covered us ahead of time in Christ. We receive and enjoy it. It’s human nature and ego to want to be seen to be doing something therefore meriting reward.

However, in God, it’s grace which means it’s unearned, undeserved and unmerited. All we do is believe in Jesus. (John 6:28-29)

As Christians, we always need to be constantly guarding against boasting because all we have and what we’re is from God.

Apostle Paul stresses in 1 Corinthians 4:7, “For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?”

The source of everything is God. As we mature as believers, we become more responsible and support the cause of the Gospel and mankind. It’s suicidal to desire to be treated by God on works.

You will be telling Him that the sacrifice of His Son was waste. Galatians 5:4 restrains, “Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.”

You would not want to fall from grace. You cannot please God outside Christ. Grace and peace be multiplied to you through knowledge. You’re going somewhere.
