A 31-YEAR-OLD Harare woman, together with a soldier and another man, yesterday appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Court charged with raping a woman who had sought refuge at her house.

The complainant had been chased away from home by her grandfather.
Mazwa Manyondo, Mcdonald Tembo (22) and the soldier, Lincollin Tendai Kadengu (32), were not asked to plead when they appeared before Harare magistrate, Bianca Makwande, who remanded them in custody after advising them to apply for bail at the High Court.
Allegations against the suspects are that on an unknown date, Manyondo allowed the complainant to move in after she had a fallout with her grandfather over an undisclosed matter. The State alleges after a few days, Manyondo invited Tembo, Kadengu and two other male adults, who are still at large, on different occasions and let them have sexual intercourse with the complainant without her consent.
The State alleges that each time, the suspects would pay the complainant for the “services rendered”.
