SEVERAL female gospel musicians and groups, including Nico-le, Victory Sounds, Anointed Voices, Leslia Dudu Moyo and One Way to Heaven are set to clash tomorrow night at Elite 400 at a concert dubbed Women in Worship Season 1.

The concert is part of a platform called Gospel Live, a brainchild of Clarence Garura, popularly known in the gospel fraternity as Kirah.

It was launched in 2014 to promote and nurture talent through active participation of upcoming and seasoned gospel musicians.

“This Friday night, we will host an interesting line up. All the performers will come in with their different styles. We have incorporated the young and the elderly and experienced so that the young ones like Nico-le can tap in the knowledge from the veterans,” he said.

“This benefits all participating musicians and groups, as it gives them an opportunity to market themselves and it is also a platform to grow their brands. This time, we decided to host the Women in Worship concert after realising that female musicians are not being accorded similar marketing opportunities as their male counterparts.”

The musician-cum-promoter said he was aiming to take the event to the national stage.

“Gospel Live will be going national soon and a way of decentralising our genre. Artistes should meet and collaborate on a national stage. Venues will be changing from time to time, as we seek to go, even, to the high-density areas. We will soon be embarking on a citywide talent search before we go to other provinces,” he said.
