THE Zimbabwe Independent, the country’s best-selling business weekly, will today launch the 2016 Quoted Companies Survey in the capital at a time most companies on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) have been registering lower earnings on the back of an underperforming economy.

The Quoted Companies Survey, which is in its 18th year, will run under the theme Surviving Turbulence, Positioning for Growth.

This year’s event will give accolades to the top 10 performing companies on the ZSE that weathered the economic turbulence being experienced by most firms. It will also recognise one listed company that has managed to turn around its fortunes under the prevailing economic environment.

ZSE, a barometer of the country’s economic condition, has been underperforming, with the equities market registering record lows since adoption of the multicurrency regime in 2009.
