The Great Composers (sungura/Rhumba), The Motion Crew Reloaded (sungura), Naka Sugar Express (sungura), Afro Jam Zim (Afro-fusion), Jesa Band (Afro-fusion) African Rhythm Band (Afro-fusion) True Bantu Band (Afro-fusion), Zvese Zvese Stars (sungura), Adequate Sounds (sungura) and Nemashakwe Stars (sungura) will fight it out for the ticket to the national finals at Glamis Stadium in Harare on September 24.

The annual music talent showcase, one of the longest running grassroots talent identification initiatives in the country, features champions from the country’s 10 provinces, who will battle for a monetary prize and a recording contract.

Chibuku brand manager, Karen Dhliwayo said tomorrow’s event will also be used to conduct the Take2 promotion final draw.

“Performers will be battling it out for the main prize of $7 000, while the second and third groups will pocket $5 000 and $4 000 respectively,” she said

“We will also have a performance by a big artiste to motivate the participants.” Mashonaland Central-based Afro-jazz outfit, Black Sight, last year pocketed $5 000 and secured a recording contract as the ultimate winners of the competition.
