The concert will be held at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) starting from 2pm until 8pm and 12 choirs from different hubs were lined up to contest.

HHI music leader, Sukoluhle Luphahla, told NewsDay yesterday that the clash of choirs was an annual event, which started in 2014 and was aimed at grooming and investing in music talent within the church so that the people may get a chance to present themselves with confidence.

“The thrust is to groom and nurture talent like what happened to Takesure Zama Ncube. This event is also aimed at winning souls,” Luphahla said.

She said the first prize winner would walk away with $10 000, while the second prize winner would get $7 500, with $2 500 for the third prize.

“The judges will look at the structure, stage presence, balance and blending in terms of vocal with the band, choreography, grooming of the choir and uniform as well as originality,” Luphahla said.

“Lindelani Mkhize also trained some teams and would be expecting to see what he taught them.”

Takesure Zamar Ncube and Worship Addicts will perform on the day, supported by last year’s winners in the clash, Hossana, Harvest Tabernacle Choir and Midlands Hub Choir.
