Addressing mourners at the burial of his elder brother, Philip, in rural Shurugwi last Friday, Mnangagwa said: “We must not judge each other and besides a sin is a sin no matter how small. It is good to live a good life but we must prepare for the after-life.”

Philip succumbed to diabetes last Tuesday and was buried at his plot in Shurugwi, near Gwenoro Dam.

Mnangagwa described his brother as a selfless man who was active during the liberation struggle, but was not concerned with accumulation of wealth.

Top Zanu PF and government officials, Mnangagwa included, have often been accused of looting State resources and amassing wealth at the expense of ordinary citizens.

Defence minister, Sydney Sekeramayi, was among the mourners.
