The two-day event will be hosted at two venues, Courthauld Theatre and Mutare Hall, while the annual festival will kick-start street cipher, where artists would be taught on the dangers of using drugs and HIV and Aids awareness.

The official opening ceremony will be held on Friday night and organisers yesterday said they were still engaging Manicaland Provincial Affairs minister Mandi Chimene and Mutare Mayor Tatenda Nhamarare, ahead of the grand opening of the ceremony.

Festival director, Plot Mhako, told NewsDay they were now geared to host the event.

“Preparations are now at an advanced stage. We are now geared up to host the event. l think this is going to be one of the most successful festivals since our first edition in 2007,’’ he said.

The groups will take part in solo dance and crew battles were the host province Manicaland will be represented by Reflexions and Clux Warriors.

Henry Tsopotsa, who runs one of the venues which is going to host the event, Courthauld Theatre, said they have been doing the groundwork in Mutare.

“We have already communicated with Jibilika executive to engage our Manicaland resident minister Mandi Chimene to officially open the event together with Mutare Mayor Tatenda Nhamarare, and as Manicaland we are urging all stakeholders to come in their numbers to support the festival,” he said.
