WORLD Boxing Council silver welterweight champion, Charles Manyuchi has hinted on a possible rematch with Russian boxer, Dmitry Mikhaylenko for his title defence.

The Zimbabwean boxing superstar defeated Mikhaylenko on points before a capacity 27 000 crowd at the DVS Hockey Arena in Ekaterinburg, Russia, to claim the title. In a post on his Facebook page yesterday, Manyuchi said: “Rematch, Russia there I come again.”
Manyuchi, who is currently in camp in Zambia, did not give the actual date on when the fight will take place, only saying it will be held in November.
The 26-year old will face off with Frenchman Damien Martin at the Harare International Conference Centre in Harare, on September 30 for his voluntary defence fight. To prepare for the fight, which in itself is a warm up for the November fight, Manyuchi will fight Deogratias Samwell of Tanzania in Lusaka, Zambia, on August 27. The fight will be the undercard for a WBC gold championship bantamweight clash between Zambia’s defending champion, Cathrene Phiri and Gibisela Tshabalala of South Africa.
Manyuchi has a record of 18-2-1 and is the fourth-best welterweight boxer on the World Boxing Council ratings. He is ranked number 21 out of the 2 183 boxers on the world rankings across all major governing bodies. Only Amir Khan, his predecessor on the WBC silver welterweight throne, Andre Berto, who lost on points to the legendary Floyd Mayweather (Jr) in September last year and Shawn Potter are higher placed than Manyuchi in the World Boxing Council.
