The Harare giants went into the match seeking maximum points following another 0-0 draw against How Mine on Thursday.

And with midfielder, Denver Mukamba having been cleared to play, expectations were high among the fans.

Mukamba though did not disappoint on his second debut, since returning from South Africa, with his trademark close ball control that drew wild cheers from the fans and with a bit of luck, could have found the target for the Glamour Boys late in the first half.

Two minutes into the match, Rodreck Mutuma found a pocket of space in the danger zone only to be denied by impressive goalkeeper, Tendai Hove.

The Glamour Boys remained in control with midfielder, Tichaona Chipunza imposing himself on the match with his passing range and it looked like Dynamos would run away victors.

However, Sunday Chidzambwa’s men remained resolute, with Tineyi Chitora, Godknows Mangani and Never Tigere threatening the home team with some fine raids.

Dynamos could have surged ahead in the 39th minute, when Mukamba collected a pass near the penalty area following good work by Kudzanai Nyakasaka and Carlos Rusere and unleashed a grounder beating Hove, but the ball crashed against the upright, before it was cleared from danger.

In the second half, ZPC Kariba soaked all the pressure from the home team, with some resolute defending and had a chance on 52 minutes, when Limited Chikafa beat Obey Mwerahari on the right, but he missed from a tight angle.

Dynamos coach, Lloyd Mutasa then made a double substitution, bringing on King Nasama and Simba Gorogodyo for Kudzanai Nyakasaka and Mukamba after 64 minutes.

Those substitutions didn’t pay dividends, as both teams struggled to create chances.

Dynamos coach, Lloyd Mutasa said the draw was two points dropped.

“I think it’s a matter of two points lost. We didn’t create as many chances today, we had Mukamba’s effort and Nasama’s, it wasn’t good for us, but we were playing an equally good side. The championship is not in our destiny. We are playing catch up and we will continue to push and see where we end up at the end of the season,” he said.

Chidzambwa was happy with the point.

“I am quite pleased with the point. We defended very well, but in this kind of match, you need to put away the half chances you get.

There were few chances for both teams, we had one or two chances we could have put away. But I am pleased with the performance in the last game against Harare City and also today,” he said.
